This season Interstoff Asia Essential’s trend forecasts will combine trendy and environmentally friendly materials that display a colorful collection of exhibitor’s fabrics. This new concept will be renamed: "From Eco to Fashion" trend forum. Ms Ornella Bignami of Elementi Moda, a world-class trend forecaster from Italy, is in charge of the entire trend forum conception from forecasting to designing both trend guide and display with exhibitors’ fabrics, providing attendees an inspirational theme for their Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 collections.
The four themes cover:
Northern Shelter – cool colors with a neutralized light effect ranging from fine jerseys and coarse cashmeres to cross-stitch embroideries and windproof nylon materials.
Indulgent Dreams – serene and soft colors in nude skin tones and cosmetic pink hues in materials ranging from superfine wools and antique laces to monochromatic brocades and prints with ephemeral motifs.
Layers of Time – colors modulated by a vintage patina with materials ranging from woolen twills and kempy mohairs to coarse canvas and paisleys on velvets and satins.
Crazy Creations – vibrant colors in materials ranging from colored denim and sparkling jersey knits with fake furs to exaggerated graphics and techno Lycra.
The trend forums will also feature a section dedicated to functional materials and renamed: "From Function to Fashion". 30 different functional fabric icons will classify all textiles into three groups:
• Functional fabrics for Casual and Home Wear
• Functional fabrics for Outdoor and Sportswear
• Functional fabrics for Uniform and Protective Clothing
Besides the colorful trend forums, in-depth trend seminars will be hosted by international trend forecasters on-site including:
• Ornella Bignami from Elementi Moda, Italy, presenting: Fashion Trends of Autumn/ Winter 2011/12
• Masako Oka, ECOMACO, Japan, presenting: Eco fashion – “Shifting to ‘green’ raw material from petroleum”
As well as two trend discussions focusing on menswear and womenswear for Autumn/ Winter 2011/2012.
