The US Embassy in Bangkok said the visit is aimed at underscore the strong alliance with Thailand and the US support for Thailand's recovery efforts following severe flooding.

Clinton will meet with senior officials to discuss shared interest and regional issues in advance of the East Asia Summit.

She will then travel to Bali, Indonesia to join the East Asia Summit and the US-Asean leaders meeting from November 17 to 19.
