GOTS-certified textiles are evaluated to ensure that all chemical inputs along the entire supply chain meet health and environmental criteria, and that production complies with social standards too.
At present, already more than 1,000 dyestuff and pigment preparations including some natural dyes, such as plant-extracts, and over 1,500 textile auxiliaries from more than 100 different suppliers have been approved by IMO for processing GOTS textiles.
The web-based GOTS Positive List System lists these textile colorants and auxiliaries, and keeps users up-to-date with and changes and additions.
An online list detailing over 2,500 different textile chemicals which are compliant with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has been introduced by the Institute for Marketecology.
