The global supply of manmade fibers and major natural fibers has increased from 52.6 million tonnes in 2000 to 70.5 million tonnes last year. This corresponds to an average annual growth rate of 3.3%. During that period, the share of manmade fibers managed to increase from 59% to 63%.
